August in Egypt

Egypt gets friggin' hot in the summer.  But because they're pretty much giant piles of rock, the inside of the Pyramids is always a cool 68 degrees F.

For everyone else, there's air conditioning.

This was the first piece in the series that I completed.  You can tell from the ragged edges.  I also had the luxury of completing this one over the course of three days, and I think it shows.

Anubis

I was housesitting for my librarian this weekend, feeding her cats and such, when the whiskers got to me and I went on an Egyptian bent. Since I couldn't remember much about Bast, the cat-headed Goddess, I did Anubis instead. I prefer canines.
